The Adoption Process
The adoption process will come about in a number of ways. You may well be acquainted with or even related to the birth mother and you've arranged the adoption between yourselves. This is commonly called a personal adoption, with a lawyer or lawyers acting as intermediaries to sort out the important points as opposed to an adoption agency.
You could opt to adopt a foster child who has been put into your care or elect to work via an agency for a child previously unknown for your requirements as well as adopt from another country.

Steps to Adoption
In all cases, a home study is normally necessary. A cultural worker will meet with you and other immediate nearest and dearest in your home to take stock of your household dynamics, to explore your reasons for wanting to adopt, and to make fully sure your home is safe and ideal for a child—you don't live in a one-bedroom condo on the 11th floor of a high-rise without any available play area, for example. The high-rise mightn't disqualify you, however the single bedroom would probably require moving to a more desirable home.
Most adoptions also require background checks and certification from your physician that you don't suffer with a health condition that might keep you from caring for a child.
The idea isn't to prohibit you from becoming an adoptive parent but to ensure the safety and well-being of the little one you take in.
You'll then proceed through the legal steps of adopting, culminating in a court appearance where the adoption is approved with a judge and finalized. The court will name you—the adoptive parent—since the child's legal parent instead of the biological parent or parents. Biological parents must sign off on the legal parental rights before an adoption can go through.

The Circle of Security® started as a “user-friendly” description of Attachment Theory. It then integrated over fifty years of early child development research into a video-based intervention that strengthens parents'abilities to observe and improve their caregiving skills. Attachment theory, through the Circle of Security®, offers clear, individualized pathways for providing a secure relationship between parent and child.
Every child comes into the planet seeking a secure relationship with her/his caregivers. The Circle of Security® program helps promote that security.
Parent Portal 194 On Monument, A protected attachment between child and caregiver is important to a child's current and future well being. University-based research shows that secure children have increased empathy, greater self confidence, better relationships with parents and peers, enter school more ready to understand, and have the ability to handle their emotions a lot better than their less secure peers. Because they grow older, secure children become less inclined to reside in poverty, have legal problems, or experience chronic emotional difficulties.
