Steps to Adoption

In every cases, a property study is typically necessary. A cultural worker will meet with you and other immediate household members in your home to take stock of your loved ones dynamics, to explore your reasons for planning to adopt, and to make sure that your home is safe and suitable for a child—that you don't reside in a one-bedroom condo on the 11th floor of a high-rise without any available play area, for example. The high-rise mightn't disqualify you, nevertheless the single bedroom would most likely require moving to a more desirable home.

Most adoptions also require background checks and certification from your physician that you never suffer with a health condition that can stop you from taking care of a child.

The concept isn't to prohibit you from becoming an adoptive parent but to ensure the safety and well-being of the little one you take in.

You'll then proceed through the legal steps of adopting, culminating in a court appearance where in fact the adoption is approved by a judge and finalized. The court will name you—the adoptive parent—whilst the child's legal parent instead of the biological parent or parents. Biological parents must sign off on their legal parental rights before an adoption can go through.

The Circle of Security® started as a “user-friendly” description of Attachment Theory. It then integrated over fifty years of early child development research in to a video-based intervention that strengthens parents'abilities to observe and improve their caregiving skills. Attachment theory, through the Circle of Security®, offers clear, individualized pathways for providing a secure relationship between parent and child.

Every child comes into the world seeking a safe relationship with her/his caregivers. The Circle of Security® program helps promote that security.

Parent Portal 301 On Morning Glory, A secure attachment between child and caregiver is important to a child's current and future well being. University-based research indicates that secure children have increased empathy, greater self confidence, better relationships with parents and peers, enter school more ready to learn, and can handle their emotions much better than their less secure peers. While they grow older, secure children become less likely to reside in poverty, have legal problems, or experience chronic emotional difficulties.
